Telangana CM assures support to BrahMos Aerospace for its expansion
Make In India

As the designer, developer and producer of the world-class BRAHMOS weapon system, BrahMos Aerospace is the only leading company which handles all stages of missile-related work, starting from the design, development, serial production, marketing, delivery, after sales support & maintenance, to upgrading and designing/ innovating new products.
As India embarks on the ambitious journey of indigenising its defence production through the magnificent "Make-In-India" programme, it is the BrahMos JV project which has already set the perfect benchmark for this very cause.
One of the most vital aspects of the JV programme is the establishment of a robust Missile Industrial Complex (MIC). This unique MIC model has over the years brought along a large number of public and private sector entities from both India and Russia to design, manufacture and supply different systems and components for the BRAHMOS weapon system.
While the Russian expertise has contributed in designing and developing the critical propulsion systems, i.e. the ramjet engine technology and booster for the missile, the Indian entities have contributed in designing several critical components, including the fire control system, electronic system, guidance system, avionics and materials for air frame of the formidable weapon.
In fact, over 200 small, medium and large-scale companies from India alone are associated with the BRAHMOS programme today as the demand for the weapon is ever growing. A number of firms from India, foreseeing the huge growth potential of BRAHMOS, have also come forward and invested their own resources to sustain the missile's unhindered growth trajectory.
The BRAHMOS JV has not only exemplified the very basis of a vibrant military partnership programme but also widened the scope for the establishment of a solid defence industrial base in India. Additionally, the JV has also continuously channelized its resources towards the creation and sustainment of a highly skilled workforce.
The successful saga of BRAHMOS has set the perfect benchmark that can be emulated not only towards making India self-reliant in defence design and production, but also in realising the long-term goals of "Make-In-India" aimed at fostering innovation, enhanced skill development and projecting the country as a world-class manufacturing hub in the coming decades.
