BRAHMOS-NG (Next-Generation) Weapon System has been envisioned as a smaller, lighter, smarter and stealthier derivative of existing BRAHMOS.
To be designed as a ‘compact’ weapon having reduced dimensions, BRAHMOS-NG will be packed with design sophistication, advanced technological traits and smart materials strength in addition to high indigenous content to make it an incredibly versatile, lethal and a universal precision-guided system which could be seamlessly integrated on modern ground, naval and air platforms in more numbers.
BrahMos Aerospace has moved ahead in its work to design and develop the new BRAHMOS-NG Weapon System, the first prototype of which is planned to be fielded in air-launched configuration. This new airborne precision weapon would be developed for integration on the Sukhoi-30MKI air combat platform of Indian Air Force and further would be adapted for light combat aircraft (LCA) Tejas. The weapon is on the drawing board stage.
Once successfully developed and tested, BRAHMOS-NG would subsequently be fielded for ground and naval/ underwater platforms. With its highly enhanced features and design refinements, BRAHMOS-NG promises to be a revolutionary inclusion for the battlefields of tomorrow.
