Telangana CM assures support to BrahMos Aerospace for its expansion

BrahMos Aerospace has embarked on a path-breaking journey to design and develop a highly advanced, futuristic weapon system – ‘BRAHMOS-II’.
BRAHMOS-II has been conceptualised as a Hypersonic weapon of the future. This ‘ultra-modern’ weapon infused with intricate technologies, highly sophisticated design, smart materials and other high-end features would be developed to keep pace with rapid revolutions in military technology worldwide.
One of the defining aspects of BRAHMOS-II would be the development of an “air-breathing” scramjet engine technology which would propel the missile to a top-notch speed of Mach 5 and above. The missile’s immense destructive power released by its sheer kinetic energy would make BRAHMOS-II an ‘ultra-lethal’ weapon of its time. An object striking a target at hypersonic speed would generate nearly 36 times the force of an object of the same mass striking the target at Mach 1.
BrahMos Aerospace is steadily moving ahead to realise this ambitious goal of designing this futuristic weapon. Initial groundwork has started in close coordination with DRDO with a thrust on building “Technology Bricks” & “Technology Clusters” to develop niche technologies required for the highly coveted programme.
Once developed successfully, BRAHMOS-II would bring a paradigm shift in modern missile & aerospace science by becoming a “game-changer” system of the future.
