BrahMos Chief Dr. JR Joshi addresses session on ‘Business Opportunities for MSMEs in Defence Sector’
PUNE: Dr. Jaiteerth R. Joshi, Director General (BrahMos) DRDO and CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace has called upon industrialists, entrepreneurs and MSME founders to embrace innovation, utilize cutting-edge technologies, adhere to global quality standards, and become an active part of India’s defence supply chain.
Addressing a special interactive session on ‘Business Opportunities for MSMEs in Defence Sector’ organised by the Brahmodhyog Foundation at Pune, Dr. Joshi, as the keynote speaker, highlighted India's rapidly developing defence manufacturing ecosystem and the extensive business opportunities available for MSMEs under the Government of India's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) vision.
Industrialists, entrepreneurs, MSME representatives, business professional and members of Brahmodhyog participated in the event which commenced with the welcoming and honouring of Dr. Joshi by Mr. Sachin Apte, Chairman of Cosmos Co-operative Bank, and Mr. Shrikant Badve, Founder and MD of Belrise Industries.
Dr. Govind Kulkarni, National President of Brahmodhyog Foundation, spoke about the organization's objectives and ongoing efforts for entrepreneurship development, highlighting the Foundation's commitment to promoting innovation, industrial collaboration, and business growth.
Mr. Trivikram Joshi, Chairman of Brahmodhyog Cell, briefed the participants about the ‘Brahmodhyog Parishad’ which is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru in February 2027 and appealed for maximum participation.
At the concluding session, Mr. Badve emphasized the need for strong coordination among industries, educational institutions, and the Government to make India a globally competitive manufacturing powerhouse.
Mr. Dinesh Adiga, Director of Plastech Systems and Solutions, expressed gratitude to all guests and participants. The event was coordinated by Mr. Satyajit Kulkarni, National Secretary of Brahmodhyog, with special support from Pune District President Mr. Mandar Rede. The programme was hosted by Smita Kulkarni.
Several prominent figures from the industrial sector present on the occasion included Mr. Deepak Karandikar (Former President, MCCIA), Mr. Vinayak Deshpande (Former Tata Leadership Officer), Mr. Abhishek Joshi (Abhi Group), Mr. Girish Chitale (Chitale Dairy), Mr. Santosh Joshi (Radheya Group), Mrs. Supriya Badve (Belrise Group), and Mr. Vijay Joshi (MD, Amrit, Govt of Maharashtra).
